Updated windows 10 from 8.1 on 10 Sept 2015. Update went well, but second monitor is blank and on boot a notification is displayed: The device is not compatible with this graphics card driver. My second monitor is attached via a Fresco Logic FL2000 USB 3.0 display adaptor. After visiting their support page, I unplugged it, went into device manager, uninstalled it, deleted the directory, downloaded the latest driver per their instructions ( version 1.315.0), rebooted, installed that driver, rebooted, plugged the device in, and got the same notification. PC is an HP desktop with an AMD A8-6500 APU with Radeon HD graphics at 3.5 GHz, 8 gig of ran, and windows 10 is (as was 8 and 8.1) installed as a 64 bit operating system.
The display is a Dell E2414H attached to the DVI port on the motherboard, and an identical monitor attached to the USV display adaptor via the VGA D-Sub. Fresco Logic is useless, they say it should work. I have also tried uninstalling and deleting their driver and then rebooting and attaching. Then, windows 10 installs a 'USB Video Device' Microsoft driver, which also doesn't work.

I tested this USB to VGA adapter using a couple different laptops and after some testing I determined that I will not use it any more. The adapter comes in a box the size of a couple Blu-ray disk cases. The adapter is slightly longer than the length of my hand and is made of a smooth plastic.
I noticed that it didn't feel as sturdy as other StarTech products and is a little light. When I connected the adapter to my computer, I heard the OS chime that something was connected but nothing ever happened. I looked at the manual (which I never had to do before for StarTech adapters). The adapter has a built-in USB drive 'FL2000DX' with the drivers needed to get started. I installed the included software 'Fresco Logic Inc.' And I then had to reboot.
After I was able to connect and begin using the VGA port. The video from the adapter was slow as video lagged slightly compared to my main screen. Later I determined that not only did the installer load a driver 'Fresco Logic IDDCX', it also installed its own software and put itself in the start-up items on my computer. In these days of viruses and backdoors, it doesn't make sense to risk my computer or network with this software. A few weeks after using this adapter, I noticed my computer running slowly and I uninstalled the Fresco software to get my computer running smoothly again. I was hoping to use this product regularly but I can't put my network at risk with this untrusted and unstable software. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

I receive the startech VGA video adapter as a free item for my honest review. It was not as easy as I thought it was because it was my first time using an adapter on my television from my computer.
I still had to have my son help me because no directions were sent with it. But as soon as my son showed me who is 12 years old how to get everything together it was easy. After looking through the inventory I found this product which seems like the perfect solution for the new computers that were going to be changed out at my job. It's both the device AND the drivers; no need to store a disk, or hunt online for each new computer. We ordered them and attached them to the new computers but they did not work. No solid explanation as to why, it just says it's not compatible with the video card.
